About This Resource

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is the standardized test used by all military branches to determine whether you're qualified to enlist and which military specialties match your abilities. The ASVAB measures verbal, mathematical, spatial, and mechanical reasoning. Your ASVAB score determines your Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT) score, which must meet minimum requirements to enlist. Your AFQT and individual ASVAB subtest scores determine which military occupational specialties you're eligible for. A higher ASVAB score opens more career options and increases your competitive ranking for desirable positions. The ASVAB is administered at Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) and testing centers nationwide.

How to Use This Resource

Obtain official ASVAB study materials and practice tests from Official-ASVAB.com. Study systematically covering all four test sections. Focus on areas where you're weaker to maximize improvement. Take multiple practice tests to identify knowledge gaps and build test-taking confidence. Get adequate sleep before test day. Arrive early at your MEPS appointment. After receiving your score, identify military specialties matching your abilities and interests. If unsatisfied with your score, you can retake the test after 30 days.
